Quarantine Days is my second commercial collection and was inspired amongst other things by West-African dress, men’s shirts and the wonderful lead singer of seventies punkband X-Ray Spex, Poly Styrene.  While making the collection, I loved listening to their music especially their 1978 debut album Germfree Adolescents. It  became the  soundtrack for the collection. However I could not have foreseen how relevant and topical some of the songs would become in light of recent events. I do not only refer to the corona crisis but also to the BLM movement. There can be no inclusion without representation. A strong black woman will always be relevant. As with my previous collection Uwi Van Hauermeiren did all the modelling. They now identify as non-binary and remain as always a true inspiration. For safety reasons during this corona crisis Uwi Van Hauermeiren acted both as model and photographer. The shoot was done in their own living room.
