Quarantine days is my second collection, inspired among other things by West-African traditional dress, men’s shirts and the wonderful lead singer of X-Ray Spex, Poly Styrene. During the making of the collection I was constantly listening to their 1978 debut album Germfree adolescents. Little did I know how relevant and topical some songs on the album would become in light of recent events. I refer not only to the corona crisis but also to the BLM movement. There can be no inclusion without representation and a strong black woman will always be relevant. As with the previous collection Uwi Van Hauermeiren did all the modelling. They now identify as non-binary and they are a true inspiration.
